It’s been a while since we posted a slideshow, don’t you think?

Traveling last month was great fun, but so incredibly hectic! We flew from Nashville to North Carolina to Cancun, drove to Playa del Carmen… shot Richard & Andrea’s wedding on Saturday… and then early Sunday morning we drove to Cancun, flew to Mexico City, then to Los Cabos… drove to Cabo San Lucas Sunday night so we could shoot Melissa & Bill’s wedding on Monday… then back to Mexico City, Cancun, and Playa del Carmen on Tuesday so that we could shoot Richard & Andrea again on Wednesday!

This is the first wedding we’ve ever shot with someone else, and I’m happy to say we had a great time shooting with the fabulous Critsey Rowe, a fellow member of The Next Set!  Thanks for having us tag along Critsey!  It was such a relaxing change to shoot a wedding without being the one in charge and you did an excellent job!

Melissa & Bill, thank you so much for being such a great couple! We hope you enjoy the montage! And anybody else thinking about getting married in Cabo San Lucas? Give us a call, we’d love to shoot you in Mexico.

We had so much fun with this shoot–Richard & Andrea were up for anything, and then some.  And then some more.

Check out our super cool bride & groom

To the jungle!

The sky, the light, the amazingly clear blue water…  all came together perfectly for shooting in the ocean

Who knew wedding photography was dangerous?  Here I am, cheating death shooting from above

Then we headed to a cenote, which is essentially an underground cave that is connected to a subterranean water body. Yeah, I’m thinking it too–way cool.

After shooting in there for about an hour, I realized that this particular cenote is home to lots of bats.  Luckily, they minded their own bat-business as we continued to shoot and shoot and shoot.

I am surprised this actually worked

I knew exactly what I was doing, and was sure this would turn out

I couldn’t resist. It’s just what happens when you point a camera at me.

As much fun as we were having above, it turns out it was even more interesting underwater

I love the way the light brought out the colour.  (Which is slightly more colourful than color)

Thank you so much, again, Richard & Andrea!–there are TONS more that we can’t wait to share with you!

I knew from the first time Richard called us that he and Andrea were going to be an amazingly fun couple. Richard is a filmmaker in Southern California, and was filled with all sorts of great ideas for setting up their wedding with how everything might translate to imagery in mind. And better yet, he let us know right from the start that they loved our style and would like to let us have free reign to do our thing once that tone was set. On top of all that, Richard was born in South Africa and has a killer accent. As if that wasn’t enough, I don’t think it would even be possible to take a bad photo of Andrea if we tried.
Good news! For those of you that are used to our one image posts, prepare! You’re about to go into image-overload-shock.

Thanks to our new ring shot lens:

Thank you so much for everything, Richard & Andrea! We had a great time with you, and miss you already.

… but wait?? there’s more?? Stay tuned for part 3.

All I’ll say at the moment is that 8 days ago, Mel and I were back with the adventurous couple…

in an underwater bat cave.
