Weddings

When I first met Bekah Shepherd, she was just a small girl – my best friend Rachel’s little sister who would run wild with the little brothers and climb into bed with Rachel at night when we would have sleepovers. Years later she came to work for us, both in the office and then also as Seven’s nanny once he was born. Five days a week, all day long, for 2 years we were together in the same house and while even most people you really love become a bit tiresome after too much togetherness, I can honestly say that we never got tired of having Bekah around. My friend’s little sister became one of our dearest friends — “our Bekah” as we still call her today. She became a part of us, an intrinsic part of our life, as Shepherds have a way of doing. Even now, after she’s moved on to greater career aspirations for the past 3 years, we still conspire on how we might be able to lure her back in one day. ;)  

I love weddings where the couple thinks through the food, maybe even more than they think through the decor. That’s really saying something for Somer and Patrick since their wedding was completely gorgeous. Add to it that they hosted us all in Rosemary Beach to make this beautiful, delicious affair happen and I think it’s safe to say we’re over the moon for these two. :)

Oh and another favorite? Meet Lady Harper. Somer’s dress got a boarding pass to fly down, so she gave her a name too. Awesome. :)

Rosemary has got to be one of the most beautiful places to get married. These guys aren’t too bad either.

The ceremony took place on the East Lawn. Somer really wanted an aisle runner, but a normal one wasn’t feasible for the location so Cristin of Kennedy Weddings worked together with her to make this. They also brought in fresh lemonade from one of their favorite places to greet guests as they arrived.

I love this first moment as Husband and Wife. :)

The reception at the Rosemary Beach Town Hall was stunning. The setting is both quaint and spectacular.

Now I mentioned the food at the beginning of this post because I just loved what they did with it. Somer and Patrick have lived in a lot of places together, so they drew inspiration from each city/state and had a food station for each part of their love story, in combination with appetizers to show off the local flavor. How fun is that??

Somer and Patrick – we had so much fun with you guys and your loved ones in Rosemary Beach! Thank you again for having us and allowing us into your lives! We’re so happy for you guys and we hope you’re always able to make each other smile like you did on your wedding day. :)

Sean and I are getting ready to head out for our first non-working, out-of-the-country trip since our honeymoon, but I had to share Melissa and Jason’s wedding before we leave!
