The Holidays are here and this is the time we’ve been looking forward to the very most with Seven!  When we lost our first child right before Thanksgiving, two years ago, the holidays were gut-wrenching.  Then last year as we waited for Seven’s arrival, it was a time of cautious anticipation.  Now he’s here and we finally get to start making family holiday traditions.  This season is finally full of nothing but joy, and we finally got to take our son to the pumpkin patch to pick out his first pumpkin.  I just feel so… grateful.

Gentry’s Farm is the cutest little family farm you’ve ever seen and it’s conveniently located right across the street from our neighborhood.  We mosied over a few weeks back on a lazy Saturday afternoon to greet Fall, pick some pumpkins, eat some popcorn, and take a wagon ride around to see some baby cows.  I got the cute family Fall photos I was wanting, and Seven got his first taste of dirt.  It was perfect. :0)

Happy Halloween Everybody! :0)

The trip had been 2 years in the making.  Much planning and plotting had been done via g-chat, Sean and I burning the midnight oil while Gladys ordered lunch on the other side of the world.  Our trip to China to photograph Gladys and Henry had been “in the future” for so long that it seemed hard to believe that it was actually happening a couple of weeks ago!  And yet, roughly 25 hours after taking off from the Nashville airport, we found ourselves in Beijing with Seven and my best friend Rachel in tow.  We finally got to meet the wonderful people we had had a running dialogue with for 2 years and they did not disappoint.  It was an amazing trip and Gladys and Henry had us absolutely spoiled with their warmth and hospitality!  I wasn’t sure what to expect from China, but I have to say I’m totally taken with it.  The Great Wall is an amazing sight, and the residences of the old Emperors are just…wow!  With our lovely couple there was no way the trip was going to be anything but a success!  We’re so excited to work on the images!  They are ah-mazing if I do say so myself! ;0)  Gladys and Henry, you guys are spectacular!  Thank you so much for having us and for being such gracious hosts!  We can’t wait to see you again next year!  Until then, here’s to lots more late night/mid-morning scheming to plan our next big adventure! :0)

Getting an email from Sarah has been the highlight of my day for the past several months.  She makes me laugh every time, whether we’re discussing which locations to choose for a shoot, what the travel plans will be, or a nightmare she had the night before.  She is just a hoot I tell you! :0)  She’s also all about having a wedding that is the antithesis of wedding stereotypes which makes her my favorite kind of bride.  I mean, you know she’s taking her wedding down an alternative path, just by looking at her dress.  LOVE. IT.  We shot her bridal session a couple of weeks back, but we had to hold off on showing the sneak peek until after her wedding and I’ve been dying to post these!  We had the best time and can you guess from the images where we shot?  It was such a fun location!

Sarah and Neil, we wish we would have been available to shoot your wedding!  I’m sure it was phenomenal and I’m so excited to see your photos! :0)
